里約奧運尋求多樣化志工

The Rio de Janeiro Olympics and Paralympics want diversity in the ranks as they begin the search for 70,000 volunteers.

里約熱內盧奧運與殘障奧運已開始尋找7萬名志工，但希望兼顧成員的多樣性。

Organizers are looking for 45,000 volunteers for the Olympics and 25,000 for the Paralympics. Rio volunteer manager Flavia Fontes said she expected 300,000 people to apply.

籌辦單位希望為奧運徵尋4.5萬名志工，殘奧需要的志工也達2.5萬人。里約的志工經理佛萊薇亞‧馮特斯說，她預期會有30萬人申請。

"We are recruiting from minority communities definitely, and they are seeing it as a great opportunity of feel part of something very important," Fontes told The Associated Press.

馮特斯告訴美聯社：「我們絕對會從少數族群徵集志工，他們也認為這是參與重大盛會的一個絕佳機會。」

"We are a very mixed society," she said. "You have the blacks, the whites and all the different levels. So what we want to show are people with disabilities, without disabilities, the young, the old. We are spreading the message that this is a games for everybody. Everybody can apply. There are positions for people who speak English, who don't speak English."

她說：「我們是一個族群混雜的社會，有白人、黑人與各個色調的人種。所以，不論殘障的人、健全的人，年輕的、老的，我們都需要。我們要傳達一個訊息，這是屬於每個人的奧運。每個人都可以申請，說英語與不會說英語的人，都可以找到合適的工作。」
