中秋節的英文是什麼？你可以說Mid-Autumn Festival，另外因為賞月（moon viewing）是中秋的傳統活動，所以也可以用Moon Festival表示。請見以下例句： 　

● People celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival by eating moon cakes.

人們會吃月餅來慶祝中秋節。

● The Taiwanese like to have barbeques while viewing the moon during the Moon Festival.

台灣人喜歡在中秋節時一邊烤肉一邊賞月。

在台灣，除了吃月餅和賞月之外，中秋節最受歡迎的活動莫過於和親朋好友一起烤肉了。英文裡面的「烤」有很多種說法，除了bake、broil、grill這三個動詞外，還有roast、barbecue跟toast。

以broil和bake來說，指的都是用烤箱烤，差別在於熱源的方向。火從上面來的稱為broil，通常溫度較bake高，目的是要為食物烤出一層金黃酥脆的皮。而火從下面或上下一起來，則是bake。bake指「用烤箱」烤東西，只會是糕餅麵包、馬鈴薯、蔬菜、麵飯等。若用烤箱烤肉類或魚，就會用roast這個字。

grill 是用大火加熱烤肉架，再把食物放到架上烤，也可以指用底部格柵狀的鐵鍋高溫煎烤，食物上會有一條一條的焦痕。

barbecue就是所謂的「戶外燒烤」，主要烤的是肉類，利用炭火的煙霧熱氣把肉烘熟。而grill則為直火炙燒，不太有煙；至於toast則是用烤麵包機（toaster）或直接在火源附近稍微烤至溫熱焦黃，一般都用於切片麵包。
