Tianhou Temple is dedicated to Matsu, Goddess of the Sea, who is worshiped by fishermen and sailors. The temple’s Matsu statue, which was brought from Fujian by a Qing Dynasty general, is known as the “Black-faced Matsu” because centuries of incense has turned her skin black. A copy of Tianhou Temple built entirely of glass was recently completed near the coast not far from Lukang.

Historical buildings on Nine Turns Lane include Shiyi Hall, which was a meeting place for poets and scholars, andRemembrance Hall, where a woman died from grief waiting for her husband to return.
九曲巷這條古色古香的巷弄造得迂迴曲折，以保護居民免受冬天強風肆虐。九曲巷中有許多歷史悠久的建築，例如文人雅士聚集交誼的十宜樓，以及一名等待未歸夫婿、抑鬱而死女子所居的意樓。

哈哈。不是啦。會這樣叫是因為兩個人同時通過時無法避免身體碰觸。它也稱作「君子巷」，因為君子都會等女士通過之後才走，以免碰到她。
